Lonnie Burr has had an amazing career, and he is not done yet! In addition to Uncle Walt, and Annette Funicello (see Lonnie’s photo with them above) Lonnie has worked with Julia Roberts, Robin Williams (in Hook!), Ginger Rogers, and one my personal favorites – Elvis Presley himself. With years of acting, singing and dancing to Lonnie’s credit – it is very likely you have seen him in many of your favorite TV shows, movies or plays. It has been a tremendous honor for me to get to know Lonnie over email and we are delighted that he has been one of our very special guests on the podcast. Check out Lonnie’s website HERE.

Lonnie’s book “The Accidental Mouseketeer” is now available from Theme Park Press – and you can buy your copy HERE!

During the podcast Lonnie mentioned a question Walt Disney asked him on one occasion, when they saw each other on the studio lot.

What was the question Walt asked Lonnie?

Hint: it is only 5 words.

Send us your answer to Disneyparkspodcast@gmail.com – by April 15th, 2014. We will draw one winner from all the correct answers to win a free printed copy of Lonnie’s new book!  The winner will notified by email and will have 24 hours to respond before we pick another winner.

Disney Vacations: How to Plan a Stress-Free Trip by Guest Author Audrey Clark

Published March 18, 2014 by Disneyways.com

A Disney vacation is a dream for many families, couples and individuals. Whether you’re a life-long fan of the classic characters or just want to enjoy the many “wow” factors of the Disney parks, the opportunities are endless for planning your trip. In fact, there are so many options for things to do and see, and where to stay on your Disney vacation, that the planning process can become overwhelming. The tips below will help you plan stress-free for a magical vacation you’ll remember for a lifetime.

Tips for a Stress-Free Disney Vacation
• Determine the Specifics in Advance. Start your vacation planning on the right foot by determining when you wish to schedule your Disney vacation, who you’ll go with and how long you’ll stay. This information is vital to the planning process so you can make appropriate travel and accommodation arrangements, and enjoy activities that appeal to everyone.
• Consider Everyone’s Interests. Disney is a destination that offers something for everyone. Consider the interests of everyone in your family or travel party to ensure there’s time to organize where you go and what you see while you’re there.
• Work with a Travel Agent. Considering if enlisting the assistance of a professional trip planner will be beneficial when planning your Disney vacation. Allowing an industry expert to help you put together itineraries that cater to your family’s interests will help you enjoy a stress-free vacation, and take the pre-trip burden off of you.
• Create a Packing List. Enjoy your vacation without a care by using a packing list during your vacation preparations. The last thing you want to do is miss a special show or event because you had to go buy sunhats, sunscreen or figure out how to manage without a favorite stuffed animal left at home.
• Leave Work Behind. You work hard for your vacations. Give yourself permission to enjoy the time without checking email or catching up on paperwork. Remember, you went to Disney to make memories with your family and friends – the office can wait.
Enjoy Your Trip to Disney
Taking the guesswork out of the trip-planning process will go a long way toward helping you enjoy your vacation once you arrive. After you determine when you want to go and how long you can stay, the next best step is to talk with a travel agent to secure the best accommodations, inside info on things to do and places to go that fit with your family interests, and to secure help with any other arrangements you need to make. A vacation to Disney shouldn’t feel like work in the planning process or while you’re there. Use the above tips and appropriate support to place the emphasis on enjoying your Disney vacation.

3 Quick Tips for Keeping Fit on Your Disney Vacation ~ By Guest Author Scarlet

Published February 27, 2014 by Disneyways.com

With every step in Disneyworld you face temptation, extensive buffets, delicious desserts and enough fast food to last a lifetime – all of which are practically impossible to resist.
Now you are in the happiest place in the world, so I by no means suggest that you deny yourself – but after months of planning (and, if you’re anything like me, a few panic gym sessions to get water park ready) the last thing you want is to ruin your trip by feeling bloated and sluggish and uncomfortable in your clothes.
water park
First of all, the probability is that you’ll put on a little weight over the course of your Disney holiday – so I certainly wouldn’t advise saving your tightest, figure hugging outfit for the last night – but here are a few cheeky ways to help you to get a bit of exercise in to ensure the weight gain is a just pound or two rather than half a stone.
Now, if you’re lucky enough to find yourself staying at one of the luxurious Disney Spa resorts you’ll be able to take advantage of the on-site gyms… but, if you want my personal opinion, the last thing you want to do is to waste valuable Disney time slaving away on the treadmill. So here are my top three ways to exercise without taking away from the magic…
Get Your Walk On!
You’d be surprised at the amount of walking that you do every day, not just the hours upon hours you spend roaming around the parks but, (if you’re staying on-site) the countless trips back and forth to your hotel room for various forgotten items, outfit changes and the essential unlimited diet coke refills from the food court. If you want a bit of perspective then invest in a $15 pedometer to wear on your first day – it’ll help give you an insight how many calories you are burning off on an average day and you may find out that you don’t need to feel guilty about that dessert after all! That said, please don’t start wearing your pedometer everywhere you go; ladies, clipping it to the elastic of your knickers under your favourite dress is a definite no-no, unless you want to look like you have an unsightly growth!
Get Clenching!
This is a bit of a strange one, but make the most of those precious half hours that you spend queuing and clench your bum! A few tight squeeze and releases a day and you’ll find you’ve got an ass than can rival Pippa Middleton’s in no time!
Find your inner child!
The water parks and resort pools are a fabulous way to cool down after a long morning in the parks – not to mention a source of great photos – but all that running up the steps to the slides will burn off a surprising amount of calories – and if anyone asks, it’s interval training not immaturity!
Most importantly, enjoy yourself and don’t let worrying about your weight affect your holiday in the best place on earth!
